Mr. Klutz Is Nuts! Reading Comprehension Questions
by Dan Gutman
Book Summary
The story follows the hilarious and often outrageous antics of Principal Klutz at Ella Mentry School, seen through the eyes of second-grader A.J. Principal Klutz, a skateboarding principal, offers increasingly bizarre incentives to motivate his students, such as hanging upside down from the flagpole, kissing a pig, and painting his bald head orange. When A.J. is initially rewarded with a chocolate bar for forgetting his homework, it sparks jealousy among his classmates. As Mr. Klutz's stunts become more extreme, culminating in a plan to bungee jump off the school roof dressed as Santa Claus, A.J. and his friends become concerned for his safety. They decide to intervene, ultimately convincing Mr. Klutz to forgo the dangerous bungee jump. In the end, the students learn a lesson about doing the right thing without expecting a reward, and the class is rewarded with a trip to Water World.
