Odd and the Frost Giants Reading Comprehension Questions
by Neil Gaiman
Book Summary
Odd, a young Viking boy with a limp, feels out of place in his village after his father's death and his mother's remarriage. When an endless winter grips the land, Odd ventures into the forest and encounters three animals: a bear, an eagle, and a fox. These animals reveal themselves to be the Norse gods Thor, Odin, and Loki, trapped in animal forms by the mischievous Frost Giants. The giants have stolen Thor's hammer and caused the perpetual winter. Odd, using his cleverness and storytelling, agrees to help the gods. He travels to the land of the Frost Giants, confronts them, and through his wit, helps the gods reclaim their power and restore spring to the world. In return, the gods heal Odd's leg and grant him good fortune.
