The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (rack) Reading Comprehension Questions
by C. S. Lewis
Book Summary
During World War II, four Pevensie children—Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy—are evacuated from London to the countryside. While exploring their new home, Lucy discovers a magical wardrobe that leads to the enchanted land of Narnia, a place held in eternal winter by the evil White Witch. Edmund soon follows Lucy into Narnia and is swayed by the Witch's promise of power and endless Turkish Delight, leading him to betray his siblings. The children eventually unite with Aslan, the noble lion and true king of Narnia, and his loyal followers. Aslan sacrifices himself to save Edmund from the White Witch's Deep Magic, but is miraculously resurrected by a Deeper Magic. Together, Aslan, the children, and the Narnian army defeat the White Witch in a great battle, bringing spring and joy back to Narnia. The Pevensie children are crowned Kings and Queens of Narnia, ruling justly for many years before stumbling back through the wardrobe to their own world, where no time has passed.
